Friday Nature Study-Summer Vacation Edition Week 2

This week we had to use the "weather permitting" excuse and we did our nature study from inside the house. How? We watched the storms roll in the last few days. There was a lot of severe weather going on in our area.

A very brief, but powerful wind and rain storm blew through Thursday night. We couldn't see out our windows! It was just a gray haze of wind and rain. I've never seen anything like it. Thank God that the worse part lasted only a minute. The beauty came afterwards when the sun came out so big and bright while the last of the rain was finishing up. We didn't see a rainbow, but I heard it was a wonderful sight to those that did see it.

Friday morning storms rolled in with some wonderful low clouds with some rotation. No pictures of the clouds because we were too busy staring out the window in awe. Caleb watched a documentary on lightning and started one on tornadoes since the risk was high at the time. I couldn't watch them as I found them too scary.  ; )

Our nature study next week will include a fishing derby to celebrate Tyler's ninth birthday. Hopefully the weather will be nice for his day.
