The start of a new school year.

We started our school year on August 1st and everything is fitting together great.  Still tweaking a few things.  I am excited about this year as last year was drama filled and our school choices were individual good, but didn't fit together too well.  I put in countless hours in my planning for this school year and it is looking like it is paying off.  Here are some pictures of our school celebrations so far.

The boys went on a scavenger hunt the first day of school.  They came inside to find new school supplies and a gift.

Caleb studied the Sumerians last week and on Friday Caleb made "clay" tablets with cuniform writing.  AKA sugar cookie dough.  We all enjoyed eating them afterwards!

The boys enjoyed a new way to study spelling words.

The boys were rewarded for a good first week of school with their choice of a new book at or our "new book basket".  My boys love reading so this a my way of getting them to do what I need them to do!  Their selections below.
