How we do art

I have the boys do art together on Fridays.  Tyler would love to do art everyday and Caleb would be happy to not do it at all.  I have a lot of art project books on hand and we tend to focus on one or two a year for projects.  We also run across art projects in other subjects, as well.  Some of our book have instruction on art and others just project.  We also do a couple art appreciation units throughout the year too.

I found some $1 books from Scholastic that I downloaded back in May.  They had this sale last month too.  One book was all paper crafts for each season.  This week we did the Frisky Fall Squirrel.

The boys working hard on cutting (both still need practice with fine motor skills).

Took the squirrels outside for a pic.  We don't have many mature trees in our neighborhood, so these and about 3 others are all we have ever seen at our house during the 12 years we have lived here.  Thanks to Tyler, we had real acorns to use.  He is quite the "Thing-Finder".  (The sun was in Tyler's eyes.)
