End of the school year . . . . randomness

I *think* we are done with school. As a homeschooling mom, you never feel done because learning takes place 24/7. But, I guess we are officially done with the school books for a few weeks. "Summer School" will start next week. It really is just 15 minutes, 4 days a week of a few math problems or other topics that need a little review. The boys will do it all independently so they (and I) have the freedom of summer and will get to pick when they want to do it.

Our summer point system is arranged and the boys will earn points for extra screen time, Lego bucks, book bucks, and $1 store credit. Points are earned by reading, extra chores, and good behavior. We redo this sytem twice a year to keep it fresh. The chore bag is freshly filled with cleaning slips for bad attitudes, when I am got of discpline ideas, and the occasional "I'm bored!" slip of the tongue. Now, I am stuck in a pile of books planning our lessons for next school year (which starts mid July). I don't mind the job, but it is challenging and time consuming. Every year I learn something new and get better organizing ideas. Right now, I am struggling with where to start . . . . . I have started . . . . . surrounded by randomness . . . . . trying to put it all together. I really could use a checklist, but I wouldn't know where to start!

I have not had my camera out. I really have no good pictures to share. Here are just a few random ones from the past couple of months. I plan to get the camera back out this weekend! I completely forgot to bring it to my nephew's first birthday. I really enjoy taking his picture, so that was a hard day!

Family picture from April at Tyler's First Holy Communion. I didn't get a single good picture of him all day! He really was filled with the Holy Spirit, but overcome with nervousness.

We was really just blinking . . . . . but, since he is like this in all the pictures, I am going to say he was praying!

A weekend scout camp out and this was the only picture I found on the camera that the boys took. I guess they were too busy getting their game on!
